Melissa Ruth

Melissa Ruth

Chief Executive Officer & Founder

“I built the tool I needed, so no one else has to start from zero.”

Melissa Ruth is an enterprise AI strategist, author, and healthcare innovator driven by a deeply personal mission to transform how patients experience healthcare. On July 28, 2026, Melissa began creating what is now known as Vital Mosaic with the goal of solving her own problems. After cancer and immunotherapy treatment, she found herself with multiple doctors, labs, tests, and diagnoses scattered across multiple electronic health records systems. In order to address her pain, navigate complex symptoms, and bring order to her medical journey, she turned to Gemini in hopes it could help synthesize the disconnected pieces of her health.

It wasn’t until August, when multiple treating physicians saw what she had created and asked how their other patients could access it, that she realized this was something that needed to exist for everyone. Weaving her software development work late into the night between her enterprise career, frequent medical appointments, and clinical procedures, she continued to build with the clear purpose that this was no longer just for herself.

Melissa brings more than a decade of enterprise technology leadership from Bentley Systems, where she helped global infrastructure organizations navigate complex digital transformations. She combines that experience with an MBA in Technical Management, Prosci® Change Management certification, and Certified Reliability Leader credentials to design systems that are both technically robust and centered on the people who use them. Her ability to recognize patterns, simplify complexity, and bridge technology with human needs allows her to turn ambitious ideas into practical solutions.

Melissa often describes her neurodivergent mind as a unique advantage—one that helps her uncover hidden connections, rethink entrenched problems, and design elegant systems that others might overlook. Inspired by the optimistic vision of technology imagined in Star Trek®, she believes innovation should always serve humanity. That philosophy continues to guide her work through Vital Mosaic®, where she is building technology that empowers patients, supports caregivers, and helps create a more connected, compassionate healthcare experience.

She lives in Spring, Texas with her husband David of 30 years, where they share a lively household including a few of their adult children, her mother-in-law, her cat and 3 dogs.

What drew Jason to Vital Mosaic, however, wasn’t just the opportunity to build another great product—it was a deeply personal experience. Like many patients, he has navigated the frustration of trying to piece together medical records, lab results, and provider recommendations across disconnected systems, often left wondering what the information actually meant for his own health. He believes patients deserve more than access to their healthcare data; they deserve clarity, context, and confidence in understanding it. Through Vital Mosaic, Jason is passionate about helping create a future where technology empowers both patients and care providers with connected information, meaningful insights, and better healthcare decisions.
